Johnson, Steil Back Schimming for Another Term as Wisconsin GOP Chair

MADISON, Wis. (Civic Media) — Two prominent Wisconsin Republicans have thrown their support behind Brian Schimming for another term as state GOP chair.

U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson and U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil endorsed Schimming on social media Sunday, citing the party’s success in the recent election.

Johnson praised Schimming’s leadership, along with the efforts of local officials and volunteers, in securing Donald Trump’s victory in Wisconsin. He emphasized the importance of continuity as the party faces upcoming battles for the state Supreme Court and governor’s office.

“I fully support his continued efforts and reelection as we work to save Wisconsin and America,” Johnson wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Steil echoed Johnson’s sentiments, stressing the need to maintain the team that led Republicans to victory on Nov. 5.

Schimming, who informed the party’s executive committee last month of his intention to seek reelection, will face a leadership vote in December.
