
Person of Interest in Shooting Surrenders
RIPON, Wis (WRPN) – The 22-year-old Elm Grove man wanted by Fond du Lac Police turned himself in this morning without incident. Tyler Niederbaumer was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
He is a person of interest suspected of firing a gun from an apartment. Police say rounds from the gun entered two adjacent apartments, but no one was hurt. Officers responded to a disturbance near South Marr and Division Streets about 11:30 Saturday night. They learned a person was taken to a hospital by private vehicle for knife wounds. They also learned about the gun being fired from an apartment.
A subsequent investigation determined Niederbaumer was a person of interest. A temporary felony warrant was issued for his arrest for recklessly endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon. A probation and parole warrant was also obtained for him.
The investigation remains active.
