Stabbing Incident in Fond du Lac

RIPON, Wis. (WRPN) – Update: The suspect was taken into custody by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office during a high-risk traffic stop overnight.

Fond du Lac Police are looking for a 43-year-old Fond du Lac man suspected of stabbing a woman with a knife.

The victim, a 39-year-old Fond du Lac woman, suffered serious lacerations to both hands and injuries to her chest, back, and upper legs. She was taken to a local hospital. The incident happened inside an apartment at 92 Forest Avenue last night. The victim called 911 at 8:14 p.m. and met officers in the apartment complex parking lot.

Residents of the building and surrounding neighborhood were asked to shelter in place. Officers established a perimeter and evacuated neighbors believing the man was still inside the apartment.

Police and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s SWAT Teams, crisis negotiation teams, K-9 units and other specialty teams were deployed.

The man was not found. The victim and suspect knew each other.
