RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- A 39-year-old Fond du Lac man previously convicted in a 2020 fentanyl overdose death was sentenced on other charges Tuesday.

Christopher Hoerth was sentenced to 6 years in prison and 6 years of extended supervision after pleading no contest to possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia from a 2019 case.

A Fond du Lac County jury had previously convicted him of first-degree reckless homicide and felony bail jumping following a five-day jury trial in 2020.

The County Medical Examiner had ruled the manner of death in the overdose case to be fentanyl toxicity. Evidence reflected the victim, Hoerth’s sister, had completed a methadone clinic treatment in 2018 and then relapsed when he delivered fentanyl to her causing her death.
