MADISON, Wis. – Founder and CEO of Urban Triage Brandi Grayson joins the Civic Media family of hosts with “Black Convergence,” a show where she will lead discussions about political and social challenges in Madison and the Dane county area.

Black Convergence

“Black Convergence” will air Thursday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. beginning Thursday, November 9, 2023.

“The idea of Black Convergence is taking a good look at our “innerGY” — our own creative power — and the creative opportunities that darkness or chaos often presents to us,” says Grayson. “I have often found that in times of upheaval we’re able to find innovative solutions because we’re forced to access unique ways of approaching an issue that are outside traditional structures. In Black Convergence, we’ll look at finding better alignment with the universal laws of science to find solutions that serve the growing needs of humanity.”

Listeners can expect conversations with people from a variety of backgrounds who have made a positive impact in the Madison community.

“I have been so eager to hear Brandi’s voice on our airwaves. Not only as a woman – and a woman of color – but as a mother and as a dynamic citizen of Madison, bringing decades of experience in activism and action.”

“The aim is to explore issues from a fresh perspective, building bridges across industries and institutions to create partnerships that may at first seem unlikely — like fostering collaboration between police and social justice movements, building partnerships between grassroots organizations and schools, or cultivating conversations between Republicans and Democrats about people who are often left out of the conversation,” Grayson adds.

“Brandi is an important voice for communities that are often underrepresented here in Madison,” says Sage Weil, CEO of Civic Media. “Her work with Urban Triage brings a much needed perspective that helps achieve real and tangible solutions for the people supported by the project. Full disclosure: I am a board member, drawn to make my contribution by her passion, creativity and boundless energy. We’ve been looking forward to the start of her show!”
