To kick off the first hour of the Civic Media Spotlight, we have the Tood Allbaugh Show. Todd talks about Wisconsin sports love with Pat Kreitlow of Mornings with Pat Kreitlow and Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project, our usual Wednesday guests. Also joining us are producers Sean Hanish and Paul Jaconi-Biery to share how they got involved with the amazing film, No Packers No Life.

We move onto the John & Gordy Show from 6-8am. Amy Horak from David J. Frank joined the show today. Amy talked about how fall weather, with its cooler temperatures and less rain, signals to plants that the seasons are changing, causing them to re-allocate nutrients and change colors. Amy also had advice on proper tree and plant care, including the importance of spacing trees to ensure they have enough room to grow and thrive. She also provided tips for fall yard maintenance, such as mowing the lawn shorter to prevent animal damage and using a mower to mulch leaves instead of raking them.

For the third segment of the Civic Media Spotlight, we have the Maggie Dawn Show. The Supreme Court's term raises alarms with a pivotal case potentially gutting the Voting Rights Act. Devon Ombres, Senior Director, Courts and Legal Policy at the Center for American Progress, critiques the court's anti-woke bias and historical amnesia, warning of dire consequences for minority representation.

To finish off the first hour of the Civic Media Spotlight, we have the Mornings with Pat Krietlow. There is an ongoing effort by far-right conservatives to elevate the life of murdered activist Charlie Kirk into something worthy of a national holiday. Pat Kreitlow isn’t buying it and notes that while political violence is abhorrent, he’s among those who won’t stand for people trying to whitewash (pun intended) Kirk’s legacy of racism, misogyny and division.
