In the last Wisconsin state budget, Governor Evers used his line-item veto power to extend public school funding increases for the next 400 years. As of this morning, our state supreme court has ruled that this move is constitutional and will stand. While many of us agree that funding schools is important, is this the right way to do it? Todd isn’t so sure. We take some calls and texts with your thoughts.
In other news, a Wisconsin Elections Committee meeting devolved into a shouting match yesterday evening. Bob Spindell, a known perpetrator of 2020’s fake elector scheme, attempted to steer the conversation towards Milwaukee’s April 1st ballot shortages, a topic which was absent from the agenda. According to decorum rules, this is out of order, and Committee Chair Ann Jacobs yelled over Spindell until he returned to the topic at hand. Milwaukee has long been a scapegoat for the Wisconsin GOP to falsely claim that our state does not have secure elections. Spindell’s false outrage over a solved issue demonstrates further that he is unfit to serve on WEC.
