Wisconsin political leaders react to death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk
MADISON, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – Wisconsin and national political leaders are reacting to the death of right-wing activist and media personality Charlie Kirk on Wednesday afternoon.
Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA and an ally of Republican U.S. President Donald Trump, was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, multiple outlets reported.
Officials and organizations across the nation mourned Kirk’s death and condemned the violent act.
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin
“Political violence has no place in America,” said Sen. Baldwin.

U.S. Senator Ron Johnson
“Please say a prayer for Charlie,” said Sen. Johnson.

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Devin Remiker
“This sort of violence will continue until all of us, regardless of party, condemn these sorts of heinous actions,” said Remiker in a statement.

Wisconsin GOP Chairman Brian Schimming
“Charlie made huge strides within the young conservative movement and his work will be remembered,” remarked Schimming.

U.S. President Donald Trump
“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” President Trump stated.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance
“A genuinely good guy and a young father,” remarked Vice President Vance.

President Trump has issued an executive order for all American flags to be at half-staff until Sunday evening in honor of Kirk.
