Mosinee tops Wausau East, Merrill shuts down Antigo in Thursday night High School football action
Weather was a big storyline on Thursday night as a pair of Great Northern Conference games were delayed by lightning. In a game heard on 98.9 WXCO, Mosinee tops Wausau East 35-7. The game was delay approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes before kicking off and it was Wausau East that struck first on a 15 play scoring drive that culminated with a 10 yard touchdown run by Iain Stahel that gave the Lumberjacks a 7-0 lead. However, it was all Mosinee after that with Treve Stoffel hitting Jerrick Seeger on a pair of touchdown passes to give Mosinee a 13-7 halftime lead. Mosinee would pull away by outscoring East 22-0 in the second half. Stoffel finished with 92 yards passing and three touchdowns while adding 143 yards rushing.
